Cala D'or is part of the municipal district of Santanyi, on the Southern half of the East coast of Majorca. It is 40 miles East of Palma and the airport. It was once a small fishing village, which has expanded over the years. It now has numerous sandy coves and creeks. The largest of these coves is named Cala Llonga. The resort has a marina that splits Cala D'or into two parts.
In the town centre there is a pedestrian area with a selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
The beach is the largest in town, but at 40 metres wide and 100 metres deep it is not very big.
There are several sandy beaches and coves in the area with sun loungers, parasols and pedalos for hire. If the beaches become too crowded, you can always take the morning bus to Es Trenc, where there is a beach of golden sand and clear blue sea.
