A great place to bring the family, there are over a hundred fantastic beaches, many family friendly restaurants and hospitable locals wherever you go. The towns are abuzz with character and charm, but relatively quiet at the same time making for some seductively relaxing resorts.

Those looking for an injection of activity into their holiday will not be at a loss in the Algarve, however, with many golf clubs and sports centres spanning the south coast, ranging widely in terms of facilities, price and accessibility.

The weather being the best in all of Portugal (expect average highs of around 30 degrees in the summer months) an Algarve holiday is one that the whole family would be mad to pass up.
