On the far southeastern coast of Cyprus is where your Protaras holiday shall take place. It has some of the most striking scenery on the island with its distinct rock formations and caves near the beaches. Perfect for those who want to explore beyond the sand and sea.
Meanwhile, the nearby Cape Greco is a protected nature reserve and a popular stop on sightseeing tours, but no doubt those feeling particularly adventurous will want to have a crack at the hiking trails that lead there.
Nightlife in comparison is relatively unadventurous, or at least in comparison to the neighboring resort of Ayia Napa. There is an obvious lack of clubs, but for many this may be something of a plus. The weather in Protaras is warm all year round, the summers are long and hot and the winters are very mild. For holidays with a cooler temperature then try the autumn, winter or spring months, you will still receive temperatures of around 18C and benefit from around six hours of sunshine per day. The Mediterranean Sea is still warm enough to swim in right up until November.
A 10% service charge is levied in hotels and restaurants so a tip is not obligatory, but small change is always welcome. Taxi drivers and porters appreciate a small tip.
