Though a Tavira holiday may not be the most popular option for a break in the Algarve, those that do take their chances on this charming, long-established town will see that it is all the better for it. Tavira Climate

Tavira sits in the eastern Algarve on the south coast of Portugal, 30km east of Faro and 160km west of Seville in Spain. The coastal town enjoys a Mediterranean-like climate, with hot dry summers and plenty of sunshine throughout the year, and cool mild winters.

Tipping

Service charges are usually added to hotel and restaurant bills, otherwise it is customary to leave a 10% tip. Bar staff and taxi drivers also expect tips, which usually entails rounding up of the bill to the nearest Euro.
