Relax in Tunisia's beach capital with our Monastir holidays

Cheap HolidaysA Monastir holiday will take you to a part of Tunisia’s east coast that is a haven for sunbathers. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in the sub-Mediterranean region, and with daylight hours peaking at about twelve during July you’ll have no excuse for not acquiring that most sought after of souvenirs, the perfect tan.

Those looking for an injection of adventure with their tan hunting, however, will certainly find it with a Jeep safari trip into the Sahara, which can last just a few hours or several days, it’s completely up to you. There are also several fantastic historical sites to be explored, including the Ribat of Hartema and the Bourguima Mausoleum.
The adventure needn’t stop when the sun goes down either, as there is much to explore in the way of eating out in a region that seems to cater for every palate imaginable.

Whatever your idea of adventure, a Monastir holiday will leave you with no shortage of things to explore.

Our Monastir holiday destinations

Monastir Climate

Holiday WeatherMonastir and its neighbouring northern coastal resorts follow a typical Mediterranean climate of low rainfall, hot summer sun and mild winters.  Weather in Monastir is relatively stable and settled for most of the year, yet occasionally suffers extremes with rare heavy downpours and very intense heat.  Pleasant sea breezes are enjoyed throughout the day and humidity is seldom high.  Monastir weather remains bright and sunny into autumn and winter with a higher likelihood of rainfall but compared to many other Mediterranean resorts, remains moderate.  Wintry conditions such as snow and frost are virtually non-existent at sea level even during mid-winter.

Holiday TippingTipping is not a requirement but appreciated for good service in local establishments. Most people performing a useful service will wait to be tipped. Waiters in resort and hotel restaurants expect a tip of around 10%.
